All smiles with Melanie and Megan.
PRIMARY TEACHING STAFF:
Melanie McQuire
Melanie graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology & Education from Concordia University. She is a confident educator who has tended to the diverse needs of young children since 2000 from working at a number of pre-schools and summer camps in the Montreal area, including Montessori and YMCA programs. Melanie joined our school in January 2007 and was instantly welcomed by the
Connaught
families. She started as the part-time Gym, Science, and French specialist before moving into the role of full-time teacher and Administrative Coordinator. Her warm and friendly manner with the children and her creative teaching abilities are a delight. Always equipped with new ways to motivate children to learn and grow, she’s able to captivate their attention and guide them through different learning experiences. She is bilingual, loves arts and crafts, body and movement activities, games, drama, and has great enthusiasm for science and an overall love for teaching.
Megan Feeney
Megan graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology & Education from McGill University. As a lifetime resident of Montreal West, she has been involved in numerous ways with the community for years. A graduate of
Connaught
Nursery herself, she worked as a lifeguard at the Montreal West pool where she taught swimming lessons and coached their swim team for 4 years. She has been working part-time for the past 5 years at The Atwater Club, heading the program and coordinating events and parties, as well as planning activities and acquiring stimulating materials for the children. Her many years of experience with children, as well as her natural ability with them, are obvious as her passion for youngsters shines through. Megan has great patience and skill at relating to children and is a firm believer in honest communication (her silly, comical side is a hit with the kids too!). She loves using artwork, dance and song as teaching tools for children. Always eager to find new ways to inspire and excite children, she brings a fresh, positive attitude that will surely be a success at
Connaught. |
“As parents and as teachers, we have the greatest gift to give children – a positive self-concept. We can do this by treating them as though they were already what they could only hope to become. Let them, through our eyes, see themselves as competent, worthy, and in control of their destiny. Give them direction … introduce them to themselves. Allow them to learn who they are and what they can be. If this is accomplished, they will no longer be strangers to themselves. They will feel at home in the world.”

COMMUNICATION HOME & SCHOOL:
An open communication between home and school is a vital component to ensure happy parents, teachers, and children. This is your child’s first experience at school, and at Connaught we are committed to making it as enjoyable as possible.
Our internal Connaught Nursery Newsletter keeps you up to date with activities, themes and other helpful information. Melanie and Megan welcome phone calls and e-mails and are happy to schedule Parent Teacher Interviews as needed. In emergency situations or in the case of a “snow day” cancellation a phone chain is used.
